BSEC 2011
About
The UK’s only event dedicated to tackling the building and refurbishment challenges facing the education sector following the coalition government’s spending cuts and the demise of the Building Schools for the Future programme. Part of United Business Media.
Challenge
To produce a campaign, not only to generate national awareness of BSEC, but to firmly place the event as a necessity for all those involved in the education and built environment sector.
Solution
A trade campaign was devised to position BSEC as a platform for thought leadership and policy announcements in the built environment sector for education, to attract media interest in and attendance at the event. A series of mini campaigns was devised and delivered to key sectors to increase interest in and awareness of the event to a key trade and education audience. Topical news stories were also maximized, offering BSEC conference speakers to comment on the issue of building and refurbishing schools. A research project was also identified and secured to provide stronger news angles in the run up to the event.

“Fugu PR delivered a professional, yet highly personable service throughout the PR campaign for BSEC 2011. They delivered strategic thinking, creative ideas, with results that went beyond original targets and exceeding all expectations.
They’re a great team; I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them and have since re-appointed the team for another UBM campaign.”
